Thai stocks down 5 pct after deadly clas…

BANGKOK, April 12 (Reuters) – Thai stocks fell 5 percent on Monday after 21 people died and hundreds were injured in clashes between troops and anti-government protesters in Bangkok at the weekend.

At 0522 GMT, the SET index was down 5.02 percent at 750.02 after hitting 749.89, its lowest since March 16, led by a 6.3 percent drop in the biggest listed firm, PTT.

The biggest bank, Bangkok Bank, dropped 5.3 percent to 116 baht.
