Mining concourse takes tax case to CanberraTasmanian miner Grange Resources is joining the queue of companies anger concerns about the resources super profits tax direct to Canberra.

The Federal Government has invited elder Grange Resources executives to a face-to-face meeting tomorrow through the Resources Minister, Martin Ferguson.

Grange has been arguing that it should be treated as a special case because it both mines and processes the minerals from its Savage River action in north-west Tasmania.

The company’s Wayne Bould says he is concerned on the point the non-negotiable parts of the tax but he has welcomed the fall out to consult.

“I wouldn’t doubt that there’s some suitable will here and we’re going to try and get through it,” he said.

“At least we’re able to have more dialogue and explain where we are and why we may subsist slightly different to other mining companies and why Tasmania might urgency that little bit more consideration than it might have been given in the beyond .”

The company will also meet the Opposition’s treasury spokesman Joe Hockey and assiduousness spokesman Ian MacFarlane.

Grange executives recently cast doubt on future investing. in Tasmania if the mining super profits tax becomes a fact.
